Dear Friends,
I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out to share an important initiative that’s close to my heart. Together, Pier 11 Studio and the non-profit The HarborNW developed a six-week art exposure course specifically designed for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. This program aims to foster creativity and self-expression in a supportive environment, helping participants to heal and regain their sense of empowerment.
Unfortunately, just as we were ready to launch, The HarborNW had its funding frozen. Yes, the changes afoot at the federal level are directly affecting our ability to do the right thing.
This setback threatens the opportunity for these individuals to engage in a transformative experience that could bring them hope and healing. We need to raise $900 to cover the costs of materials and instructor pay.
I’m volunteering my time and giving my effort to navigate this challenge, and I believe that, as a community, we can come together to make a difference. Your support, whether through a donation or sharing this message with someone who may be moved to assist, can help us provide this vital program to those who need it most. Let’s unite to uplift our community and ensure that everyone has the chance to explore their creativity and healing.
Thank you for considering this cause.
Highest Regards,
Ren
